Overordnede mål :

In the long run, this project will provide a basis for future efforts to increase the rights of young people and enable them to create a good future as active citizens. This will strengthen the life of the individual young citizen, prevent early marriages, prevent unwanted pregnancies, prevent sexual violence, ensure a more stable schooling and prevent sexually transmitted deceases.

Umiddelbare mål :

The project’s immediate objective is to strengthen the Sierra Leonean civil society’s capacity to advocate for the improvement of young people’s sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) in Sierra Leone and hold the authorities accountable for the education sector. To achieve this immediate objective, CSOs will meet to analyse the knowledge existing on SRHR, to analyse the experiences on sexual education and to organize shared advocacy work focused on regional and national authorities.

Målgrupper :

Primary target group: 10 members of the CARL organization 20 representatives of NGO´s from different districts in SL (working with quality education) 5 members of Education for All – EfA – national office in Freetown 3 members from SLGEN-office Representatives from the Ministry of Education Secondary target groups: All 95 member-NGO´s of EfA Ghana and GEN.

Resume:

The project’s immediate objective is to strengthen the Sierra Leonean civil society’s capacity to advocate for the improvement of young people’s sexual and reproductive health and and hold the authorities accountable for the education sector. To achieve this immediate objective, CSOs will meet to analyse the knowledge existing on SRHR, to analyse the experiences on sexual education and to organize shared advocacy work focused on regional and national authorities. The project will produce a report of the existing national experiences with sexual rights and sexual education in SRHR. This will lead to a plan of action for a comprehensive effort to strengthen young people's sexual rights and reproductive health in in-school activities.
