Resume:

The main purpose of the intervention is to defend fundamental rights at work in the public sector in Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador by promoting the respect for the right to organize and collective bargaining, which have been systematically rolled back in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The economic and political crisis, provoked by the COVID-19 pandemic, has exacerbated violations and undermining of the respect and protection of the fundamental rights at work in these countries. Public Service International and its affiliated trade unions in the public sector in Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador will with the support of the DTDA address the systematic violations of labor rights in the public sector, which has been further curtailed during the pandemic. The intervention will focus on strengthening the capacities of trade unions in the public health care, water and sanitation, municipal services and administration sector.
